Ben Palmer, Sr. was born in Holland, NY, about 38 SouthEast of Buffalo. Named after his father, Bennett was one out of seven children. At the age of 18, the US was at war and Ben was one of the many eighteen to twenty year olds who registered for the Draft. The Hunter and the Hunted is his first person account of five campaigns in Europe, written approximately 56 years after World War II.

Ben Palmer Sr. now lives with his wife, Pauline, and has four children, Ben Jr., Gregory, Barbara, and Diane. Currently he is the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and great-grandfather of three great-grandsons.

The Bennett Palmer Sr. family began a business in 1993 manufacturing wood pellet fuel under the company name Dry Creek Products, Inc. and has been well-received in the industry. It is currently the largest manufacturer of wood pellet fuel east of the Mississippi.
